A Concert for Water @ Nirox

Concluding the Soil & Water multimedia arts project examining the delicate balance of interconnected ecologies through the creativity of artists from across the globe, A Concert for Water reflects on the urgencies and shared entanglements which connect, sustain and exult us through water - essential for life on earth and a source of transcendental beauty.

Yonela Mnana has released two albums, titled ‘Baba’ and an international collaboration with Swiss saxophonist Benedikt Reising titled ‘Echoes of Marabi’. Mnana gleefully anticipates the fireworks from a fusion of these two formations and hopes to use his unique pianism and raw vocals as a vehicle that carries this entire musical exploration and celebration of his compositions as he reflects on the life giving water. The Soultee Sisters were central collaborators in the recently released album Echoes of Marabi and will collaborate with one of Mnana’s eclectic ensembles known as 3quency.
